Phoenix Elder Law Attorney

Affordable Services · Experienced Legal Knowledge · Focused On Client Needs

What are you looking for in a lawyer? The Yellow Pages is full of pages of attorneys serving the Greater Phoenix area. The truth is, every lawyer has knowledge of the law — or they couldn’t advertise themselves as licensed attorneys. But if you need and expect more from your lawyer than a diploma, we invite you to learn more about Law Offices of John E. Perry Jr., in Anthem, Arizona.

Arizona ttorney John E. PerryAttorney John “Ned” Perry is a former corporate legal counsel, with more than 30 years of legal experience. But he brings a wealth of experience beyond legal book learning. Together with his wife Hiroko, he raised a child born with Down syndrome and severe autism to healthy, happy adulthood, while traveling around the world as a family. Like nearly every family, they had some ups and downs along the way, including some legal scraps to successfully fight to get Annie the medical help, social assistance and education she deserves. As Ned says, “Friends ask me how we did it with so many challenges, but like most families, we wouldn’t change a thing.”

We’re Among Friends

Ned and Hiroko moved to Anthem after his retirement from the corporate world for the same reason so many retired senior citizens move to Arizona. They enjoy the sun, and they enjoy the company of people who have shared many of the same life experiences their family has. Today, they use those life experiences and Ned’s legal knowledge to provide a full range of estate preservation and effective elder law services that people need most when they are concerned about preserving their legacy and assets for future generations.

Contact us to arrange an opportunity to discuss your legal needs in any of the following areas of the law:

  • Elder law: A common phrase used to describe services most sought after by senior citizens, including advance health care directives, durable powers of attorney and Medicaid planning for preserving your estate assets in the event of long-term care.
  • Guardianships and conservatorships: Services for people who require legal authority over disabled or infirm loved ones who cannot make financial or legal decisions for themselves.
  • Estate planning and asset protection: A full range of legal instruments and services for people looking for ways to protect their financial legacy from high probate taxes and court decisions. Due to our own experience raising a child with a severe disability, we have extensive knowledge of the best options for establishing a special needs trust to cover the cost of care for loved ones who will not be able to care for themselves after you are gone.
  • Business law
My mother’s contested guardianship was a difficult, gut-wrenching process I had to conduct entirely from outside Arizona until the actual hearing. Ned spent a lot of time on the phone with me, walking through all of my options, even advising about matters not strictly related to the actual guardianship proceeding. His ability and willingness to counsel clients as well as be their legal advocate is especially important when you have to take over the affairs of your own parent, against the wishes of the parent and another family member. I’m very glad I chose Ned to help me with this formidable task, and not just because of the successful outcome of the court proceeding.

Ned’s career has taken him from Pennsylvania (he was born and raised in Pittsburgh where he attended law school) to California, and overseas. As a result, in addition to Arizona, he has also been admitted to the bar in both Pennsylvania and California.

His background in business and finance has led to his current service as an Arbitrator of disputes for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and he offers business owners a range of legal services including mergers and acquisitions, incorporation matters and business contracts.
